The following have been considered "parity" diagnoses in California. Although the term "parity" suggests that people with these diagnoses will be reimbursed in the same way that they would be for a medical illness, these diagnoses are still reimbursed differently in many aspects.

Of course, a diagnosis is the result of a professional judgment and cannot be adjusted on the basis of rates of payment.
